Dr Peter Lobl

Dr. Lobl is a clinical psychologist in Midtown Manhattan offering therapy for couples and individuals at important junctures in their personal, relational, and professional lives. With training from Columbia University and past clinical roles at Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. Lobl holds sessions both in-person and virtually and works with clients on issues relating to communication; assertiveness; attachment; dependence; self-esteem; and anger management, among others.

Dr. Lobl’s practice integrates psychodynamic and behavioral treatment modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).The initial consultation has for purpose to see if you find Dr. Lobl’s approach to be a good fit and to discuss your goals for the therapy, including what you would consider a satisfactory outcome. During the consultation, you and Dr. Lobl would also go over some of your personal history as it relates to these goals.

Prior to entering the field of psychology, Dr. Lobl earned at JD from Duke University School of Law and practiced law as an Associate at international law firms. For his clients who are lawyers, Dr. Lobl provides individual and couple therapy that is informed by first-hand experience of “big law” cultures, including the pressures, intensity, and expectations of these legal environments.
